This image captures suburbian Lomé pretty well. Notice the beautifull foliage, low skyline and cement housing.

Also notice the large pile of garbage on the ground. There is no waste disposal system that I am aware of. In Kpalime, people are pretty good at burning their garbage and the area isn't too dirty. In Lomé, there is garbage everywhere. Once you're done with something, you just throw it onto the side of the road.
