This is one of the little communities that can be found as we travelled up the mountain. All of the houses are build upon piled up stones, which I question as a foundation, but it seems to work.
You may wonder, what does one do for a living on a small mountainside community? I wonder the same thing. Interestingly enough, once you travel farther up the mountain many of the houses are "cottages", or vacation homes. Many of them are owned by Germans. Togo used to be under German controle before they became a French colony and then gained independance, and it was the Germans that built most of the roads in Togo including the road up the mountain.
